I’m Ian Fein, the proud owner of Fein Productions.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

My foray into professional video production began with a marine science documentary at Cornell University. I randomly met the lead producer, and he found out that I had been scuba diving and on boats all my life and had majored in production. Being in Ithaca, New York, there weren’t a ton of scuba divers, so I got hired on a part-time basis at first, and then worked full-time on the documentary. We traveled all over the world, recording both video and audio of marine creatures, and it was a fantastic first production job.

Back in 2006, I started by recording audio, being a second camera and AC and being an audio engineer and basic editor. After launching Fein Productions, I am now director, producer, and DP, but it has been an amazing experience learning from all the people I have worked with.

One part of the business that I just love is that you work on completely random things week to week and get to do a deep dive into a certain industry and learn a lot about something that you may not otherwise have ever looked into. From marine science to up and coming technologies to music videos to social documentaries, you are always learning something.

My focus is on delivering an end product that my clients will be proud to show. Moreover, I always look for ways to make my work truly unique and engaging for a customer while pushing my own standards of work and have fun while doing it. This work ethos has earned me a lot of business referrals through word of mouth.

When I’m not at work, I like to surf, scuba dive, performing capoeira.

I am also passionate about environmental concerns like global warming, single-use plastics, and destructive agriculture. I’m also really happy about the role I played in putting together a nature documentary about the border wall in the USA and its effect on migratory animals. I believe that playing it for Congress had a direct impact on the way they now think about the wall.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
